  • Extensive content management
  • Automated device management
  • Full or incremental backups supported

  • Quick implementation, simplified operation

In today's multi-platform environments, IT managers strive to consolidate backup functions, simplify processes and eliminate errors caused by duplication of efforts and lack of centralization. Centralizing administration and consolidation backup management gives corporations the control necessary to manage their data and tape inventories across the enterprise. LXI's backup servers, Media Management for the iSeries or Open Systems (MMS or TMS/ix), allows corporations to centrally administer their backup strategies for the entire enterprise.

The powerful media management capabilities in both products provide comprehensive content management, administer all device control including automated tape libraries, and provide complete overwrite protection, assuring that backups will be recoverable. MMS and TMS/ix allow backups to occur from one location using standard scheduling techniques, ensuring backups start and finish on time.

LXI's universal client, an extension to MMS and TMS/ix backup servers, provides the ability to setup and execute backups and recoveries for any client from a single location. Jobs can run automatically without operator intervention, providing high-speed data protection with ease of use.

Centralized Backup and Recovery

Centralizing backup administration and simplifying recovery options for one or more Windows, UNIX or Linux clients managed by MMS or TMS/ix backup server decreases overall administration. With LXI's universal client, you will:

  • Reduce backup time by implementing full or incremental backup strategies.
  • Control recoverability by performing full and partial restores to the same or different client and/or folder.
  • Minimize network administration through the clients in the network by routinely performing auto-discovery.
  • Reduce the time and effort needed to manage backups and recoveries, while maximizing the use of existing hardware and software resources that exist on the server.
